The National Economics Challenge (NEC), as one of the most influential economics competitions for middle school students globally, has further upgraded its competition system innovation, academic depth, and international resource integration in the 2025 season. This article will systematically summarize the core information of this competition from the perspectives of competition schedule, group settings, competition content, award system, and participation value, providing comprehensive guidance for participants.
The NEC competition was founded by the Council for Economic Education (CEE) in 2000, covering over 30 countries worldwide with an annual participation of over 20,000 people.
The competition content is highly compatible with international curriculum systems such as AP, IB, and A-Level, covering three major modules: microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international economics and current affairs. Through case analysis, team defense, and other links, students can strengthen their abilities in data modeling, critical thinking, and cross-cultural collaboration. The winners of the global station can participate in the "Economic Super Bowl" segment broadcast live by CNBC and engage in dialogues with experts from Wall Street financial institutions.
