TOEFL Junior is an English proficiency test designed specifically for young people aged 11-15 by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in the United States. As a member of the TOEFL family, TOEFL Junior aims to objectively assess the English proficiency of students from non-native English-speaking countries and provide them with an international proof of their English ability. Since its first launch in 2010, TOEFL Junior has been widely used in China, South Korea, Japan, and other countries and regions, becoming an important reference standard for admission to many international schools and overseas secondary schools.
The TOEFL Junior exam primarily consists of three sections: Listening, Language Form and Meaning, and Reading Comprehension. The total duration is 110 minutes, and the maximum score is 900 points.
Listening section: Approximately 35-42 minutes, containing 42 questions, accounting for 300 points. This section primarily assesses students' ability to comprehend daily conversations, classroom lectures, and academic discussions. Question types include picture questions, dialogue questions, classroom lecture questions, etc.
Language Form and Meaning Section: Approximately 25 minutes, containing 42 questions, accounting for 300 points. This section primarily assesses students' mastery of English grammar and vocabulary, including question types such as sentence completion, text completion, and passage completion.
Reading comprehension section: about 50 minutes, including 42 questions, accounting for 300 points. This section mainly tests students' comprehension ability of various texts, including academic articles, notices, letters, etc. The question types include detail questions, reasoning questions, vocabulary questions, etc.
